I am 5.5 weeks, ultrasound today showed a healthy sac, yet no baby seen. Doctor said it is normal. There is a weird thing in the sac, forgot to ask what that was. Is it the yolk sac? Like two dots close to each other

I had my first u/s done at 5 weeks, 1 day. All we saw was a black dot, which was the sac. The u/s tech said that was all we should see. I had another u/s done exactly 2 weeks later. What a huge difference! Not only did we see a baby inside the sac, but we got to see the heartbeat flicker on the u/s monitor. It was so exciting and reassuring to see that.

The two dots are the beginning of the fetal pole. Congrats!

what you can see in your ultrasound photo's isnt anything to worry about. most of those things are just 'ghost images' and doctors know which ones are real images of things that are issues, and which are nothing.

If your doctor said all is well, then dont worry about it.
