mine took 2 weeks and that was with a very sensitive test. It was very faint though but a couple of days later i took another test and the line was very dark!

PS, i found this link below for you on wikipedia that might be helpful!

"The beginning of pregnancy may be detected in a number of ways, including various pregnancy tests which detect hormones generated by the newly-formed placenta. Clinical blood and urine tests can detect pregnancy soon after implantation, which is as early as 6-8 days after fertilization. Home pregnancy tests are personal urine tests, which normally cannot detect a pregnancy until at least 12-15 days after fertilization. Both clinical and home tests can only detect the state of pregnancy, and cannot detect its age."

I didn't get a positive pregnancy test until I was nearly 5 weeks along with my second pregnancy. It was about 2.5 weeks late for my period and I tested 3 other times during the two weeks. I never bothered with the cheap tests, always used the EPT early response ones. With my first daughter I was about 5-7 days past my period being due and got a positive and used the same tests then. Are you talking 10 days after you have sex or 10 days after your period was due?? It would probably take longer than 10 days after sex to get a positive but after your period was due it could be anywhere from 1 day to 2.5 weeks....every woman is different. Also, taking a while for a positive test doesn't always mean anything is wrong with the pregnancy.....I am 25 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl! Good Luck!

Well I´m not sure if this will answer your question but here is how I found out.... I had my period in September and then October just before my period was due I told my husband I was pregnant ( just knew it ) I took a test the same day and it came out positive and went to the doctor the following day and I was +- 6 and a half weeks pregnant....

Hope that helps....

I didn't get a positive until about 3-4 days after I was supposed to get my period. A lot of the tests say that they are supposed to be able to pick up the hormone several days before the missed period, but that wasn't the case for me. If you are only 10 days past ovulation, it's probably too early. Wait until your missed period and try again.

It depends on the levels of HCG in your system! I took a pregnancy test 12 days before my period was even expected and I got a very faint positive result. I took a test the next day and it was still pretty faint. I waited two days and took another and it was much darker (9 days before my missed period). I had it confirmed by a doctor two days before my missed period! So I guess I have high levels of HCG, it was detected super early.......maybe that means twins.............oh no! haha.

I NEVER get a positive home test. Even at 24 weeks along. Blood took me about 14 days after ovulation. Hope this helps.

My home test turned positive 10 dpo. However, I consider that REALLY early as some women's test don't show positive until after they miss a period.
