7 day cruise, but leave from Puerto Rico and you will get so see a lot of islands, or come to St Croix if all you want to do is mostly sit on a beach. Jamaica is a very unsafe place. The hotels are surrounded by guards and high chain link fences. You can hardly go outside the fences and they highly recommend you stay in. Particularly during the night. Yesterday evening, we went to Frederiksted in St Croix and went to Jazz on the beach. Then we went downtown Frederiksted to a bar, and had pizza. There were about 50 people in the bar and 500 people on the unfenced, unprotected beach. This would not happen in Jamaica. Last year 12 police were murdered in Jamaica. Hundreds of residence are killed each year. It is a violent place. It is kept quiet because they do not want to ruin their vacation business.

Most of the answers are good and opinion varies. I would say Peter Island in the BVI's and Caneel Bay in the USVI's. One place not mentioned is Necker Island, which is just NW of The Bitter End. Necker Island is owned by Richard Branson, the Brit that started Virgin Airways. My vote in order for exclusivity is
Necker - Peter - Bitter End - Caneel

They are all awesome, cant go wrong. Oh yeah and bring the cash, they are all very expensive!!!

Generally I would no more go to the Caribbean than I would visit Libya right now. Or any Fun In The Sun singular dictatorship along those lines.

The most exclusive resort must be Parrot Quay in the Turks and Caicos. Very, very expensive! Beloved of film stars and other wealthy people. http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:I-dCreJgEWwJ:www.cntraveller.com/ReadersAwards/2002/Hotels/+parrot+quay+turks+and+caicos&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=3&gl=us
