I am a tax preparer, and have people walking in my office all day long asking, "How much can I get for each kid?" with a greedy glint in ther eyes.
Yeah right.....like any of those kids are going to see ANY of that money spent on their actual needs.......

Ahh, the good ol' EIC. Everybody needs to drop another 2-3 kids to get some more money back on their taxes. If they are like my stepson, it means more beer and cigarettes and a reason to quit work for a month or so. Makes me furious.

That is pretty greedy. I am sure that some parents do spend some of the money for their kids though. I have three kids and we spend a lot of money on them clothes, food, toys, furniture for their rooms. This year we are going to put in a fence for our yard so they can play out side more and we are taking them to Florida to go to Orlando for a family vacation. I have never asked how much do I get for each kid though, that is not the reason to have kids

This government is so screwed up! Here I am, a responsible woman with no kids, I pay my way. Do I get any tax breaks? NO! It's these women who have 10 kids and don't work that get money back from the government! I deserve it more, I'm not the one popping out kids just so I can live on WIC and welfare! How messed up is that!

I guess you don't have kids and have an understanding of how much it costs to raise them. The small amount we get back from the government is nice. No, it doesn't make me sick. I am disgusted at the fact that you think that raising children isn't expensive and that we are selfish in desiring a tax brake, when too much of our taxes are taken out to begin with and are living paycheck to paycheck.
Besides, I have taken my son on vacation, to Europe, with my EIC.

People on WIC and welfare don't get refunds, or at least nothing substantial. Get real.

well, I don't think that is always the case, but probably sometimes, it is just that the politicians are so ridiculous with the way they are taxing people, people are just trying to get their deserved money back
