I made the mistake of making a big deal out of our first Valentine's Day together; got him card, chocolate, presents...
He got NOTHING for me. Not even a card. I think he felt pressured by the hype and resisted by not participating. Even though he loves me and shows it all year long.
This was 20 years ago and I am still hurt by it. So that just shut me down on the whole Valentine's Day thing, and I think I did it to myself by having out-of-control expectations. Ever since, HE has been the one grovelling on Valentine's Day and he's lucky if he even gets a card from me.
So learn from my mistake and get him a simple card and don't make it into a big deal. It's how he treats you all year that's really important!

It is my experience that guys really couldn't give a rip about V-day, it's more of a girl thing. If he remembers you and gets you a token just call that good!
