Do the Housewives of Orange County (reality series) get paid & if how much per show?

I LOVE that show. If they do, they don't need the money, right? Whatever the case I like the show A LOT! Counting the hours 'til tomorrow...

I don't know about this show specifically, but from watching a VH1 show about reality shows (very meta), reality stars get paid very little, if they get paid at all. No more than around $15K. It's something you do for the fame, not for the money. It just so happens that the fame can bring you money from other sources. In an interview, Lauri from the Housewives was saying that she gets invited to all sorts of events in Orange County as a result of the first season of the show.

This is what former contestants of reality shows complain about -- the network makes all sorts of money off of you, you get close to nothing *and* have your life disrupted in the aftermath in many cases, and you're struggling to pay your bills while the network laughs its way to the bank. They do it voluntarily, but it's still somewhat unfair. At least the Real Housewives all have independent sources of income that continue during filming.

I'm not sure, I assume so but to clarify for the other person it's called "The Real Housewives of Orange County" and it's on Bravo. It's a really good show, mostly cheesy and funny it has its appeal towards the middle class who always wonder how the other half lives!

Is this for real? There's a show? Since when? I've been an OC housewife for 12 years now - I'm a show in itself. I've never heard of OC wives show - it better not be anything like that sleezy desperate wives show - do tell...
