Start on the Internet, of course. I have a friend who does extensive research prior to every job interview...and, at times, has been more knowledgeable about the company than the interviewer. Make sure you know the movement of the company (is it in expansion, or maintaining the status- quo). Know the product, company philosophy (mission statement), stance on promoting from within, the targeted consumer for its product/service, and be familiar with the company's major competitor.

What is it they do for business....are they local, global? How old are they? Have they done anything for the local community? Humanistic side. What do you think is the most interesting aspect about the company? Why do they attract you to them?
