right now (besides bugs bunny) i'm also thinking of the clever one out of scooby doo.I don't see her going out with a guy either.

Am i stating the obvious here or do I need to get out more?

ok, Geico Caveman, i think his voice is kinda gay, i understand that he's supposed to be from the bronx by/from his accent but then there's all that cross dressing, and he kinda walks funny too.

plus there's that carrot.

nah, i think i just see him as gay anyway...

Batman.

And the ambiguously gay duo. Althought they haven't come out yet.

Smithers and Burns on the Simpsons...
Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Velma, Jiminy Cricket

...Also, Ernie and Bert live together on Sesame Street (although they're not actually cartoons).

Some of you people out here are reeeally stupid if you believe that 'gay' cartoon characters can make kids gay! If YOUR parents weren't smoking so much low-grade greenery and chugging down the booze, YOU would have some brains right now.

Openly gay? Not likely, but there are quite a few that suggest homosexuality. Stewie Griffin from Family Guy, Smithers from the Simpsons, the alien on American Dad, of course the Ambiguously Gay Duo of SNL's TV Funhouse.

But lesbians are even fewer and far between than gay men in comics. I guess they aren't as funny because they don't have the same stigma or the same absurdly obvious stereotypes.

There was the gay guy in the Simpsons. I think Catwoman is a lesbian now. I'm sure that I heard there was a gay X-man,but I can't remember which one.

Kevin the Gerbil from Roland Rat. With that pink bucket and his love of making quiche? So obvious! (okay not a cartoon, but kinda close)

Bert and ernie from Sesame Street. Don't you find it strange that two men not related happen to be sharing a room. Hmmmmm. Besides look who created the show. Old jimmy was a sissy.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned Patty Bouvier, Marge's sister, from The Simpsons! She is an out and proud lesbian! They even had a whole episode about her coming out. It's a classic!
