We have been having this problem today, it has happened before, try unplugging and remove your sky card for a couple of minutes, then put everything back and hope for the best. The weather can effect it at times too.

Does the TV just lose picture? If so, does the TV have a built-in tuner? If so then screw the cable line from the wall directly into the back of the TV. You won't be able to get ALL of the channels but you should at least get some. Does the TV turn off entirely? if so, then disconnect the cable box and then turn the TV on with no picture.. Wait and see if it still turns off. You may need to continuously change the channel for the duration of the test in case it is programmed to turn off when it does not receive a signal.

It happened to my skybox a couple of years ago. It was a Panasonic. Call Sky and say there is something wrong with your Box and they'll send someone out to look at it or replace it.

This is happening with my sky box right now. It has never happened before. Could it be a national thing?

that's happening to mine too, I rang them earlier and they suggested unscrewing the aerial, blowing on the copper wire incase some dust was interfering with it, and screwing it back in, worked for a few hours and then went off again..
