No I think it is a load of commercial rubbish. People are suckered into buying cards and gifts.
I worked in catering for many years and was amazed by the people who wold phone up last minute for a table in an absolute panic that their other half would 'kill them if they did not get a table'.
Who would want to go out with someone that shallow.

I am not anti-romance just anti-st valentines.

I make not buy gifts as i think the personal touch is more romantic.

Believe me when you're married for 15 and more years, Valentines is just another day with a little bit of sprinkles. Yes, on the day I feel a bit special and give my husband a meaningful kiss. We don't go out to eat just because it's Valentine. Neither do we waste out time getting each other present. Though we did say 'happy valentine' and eat dinner at home with our tween son and rehatch how we met. I would call that celebration with our token of love: our son.

My boyfriend and I just broke up yesterday. So, I'm going to have to say that I will NOT be celebrating Valentine's Day this year.

Yes, we do celebrate Valentines day. We always do something special, buying each other a small thoughtful gift and we go out for a fancy dinner. This year it's Italian.

Much like Christmas - only because Im forced to, by both society and my fiancee...

If I didnt have to celebrate it, I wouldnt. But, if I come home empty handed, you can bet your sweet as* that I wont be getting any for a while... so, I do what I must to keep her happy...

But it is a BS "holiday" designed to part you with you money, courtesy of Halllmark.

I celebrate it as National Single's Awareness Day!

To me it's pretty pointless....
If you love someone then EVERY DAY should be like Valentine's day, or you should decide when to celebrate it, not when the corporate world wants us to so they can make huge profits for themselves by exploiting our emotions and getting us to buy, buy, and buy.

Only if I'm in a relationship. There's no point if your single. The days of making a heart shaped card for your Mum are long gone.
