As a life coach, I get clients who want to do something like this all the time. If you're interested in my help, check out my source.
If you want to find yourself, then you have to find out what kind of person you want to be, what kind of job you want to have, and what would be the best way you want to live your life. You just need to get yourself out of this slump, figure this out, and prove yourself wrong.

I think everyone needs a sense of purpose. I hope this doesn't sound too cliche...but you are exactly where you are supposed to be at this moment. Meaning, maybe these feelings will prompt you to make some change. Whether it is where you live, work, who you are associated with, the nature of the relationships in your life. What do you like about your life? What would you change?
I've felt the way you're feeling right now and I know it stinks. It may be hard to believe right now but even the smallest step in a new direction can make an enormous difference. It can open up a totally new aspect of your life. Start small...change can be scary, and it takes courage. You'll be surprised though what it can turn into.
Most importantly have faith in yourself. Hang in there! The beauty of life is that with every day something new...nothing ever, ever stays the same. However you do have a responsibility in this; take some action. You'll get through it!

I'm 31 and since 1 year ago I have been feeling not so good nether. I went to the doctor and she said it's a usual time, around the 30's, when we start to feel uncomfortable about who we are or how did we manage our lives until now. I think, first of all...we should (both of us!) calm down a little bit, we are not alone and I think is better to realize this than continue like nothing happens, so we are not stupid :-) Then, I am trying to see what is wrong with me and maybe visit a psychologist to help to find, as you said, a purpose. And it's not too late to be anything, so you are unique person already and I am sure you will find something to do that will fulfill your life. Good luck!

Well old as you are you shouldn't be playn' is some hole. No purpose-do something you like or always wanted to do-live, You said you were on by a thread---it'll only break when you try to hang yourself---get a rope!! It's never to late to do something there are a lot of people who were born with no hope, get out and help trust and believe that good will come out.

It's never too late to follow your dreams. Never give up on your goals and dreams for your life. It has to start with you accepting yourself and having a healthy self esteem. Your life does have a purpose...no one is here by accident. You may want to get some counseling to help you work this out. It really helped me to have an outside person to talk to about my feelings. You can be totally honest with a counselor and not worry about what they're thinking of you. Don't give up, you are still young and have plenty of time to make something of yourself and your life. Don't be so hard on yourself.
