Take any citrus peels you have like oranges, lemons and the like and put them around your garden. Cats can't stand the smell.

Here are some ideas that have worked for me without damaging my plants:
Squirting the cats with a water gun or water hose
Cayenne pepper sprinkled liberally around the edge of the garden
Moth balls or flakes around the edge of the garden .... not particularly aroma-friendly to humans either but they last much longer than the cayenne pepper and once the cats start to learn your garden is off-limits, you can start slacking off and eventually cease the moth balls
Inflated balloons on sticks around your garden. Cats do not like sudden, loud noises but won't be able to resist the swaying target ---when they pop the balloon, they'll run.

Hope this helps; I am a cat liker (just short of a cat lover) and a cat owner but I am also a strong believer they have their place! Good Luck!

well cats are nice if they are your own cat´s We had this problem with the neighbour´s cat coming in and using our garden as a toilet , best way to stop them if this is your Q where ever they are doing there toilet , get some wire and run it from one side to the other about hand high from the ground , the cat won´t go over the wire and he won´t go under the wire, something to do with the wire touching there whisker´s , it worked for us we had no more cat´s use our flower bed as a public toilet . Also put some black pepper down , it give´s them a hot bum

They will go where there is nice, loose soil, so to keep them from using your garden, either lay some bark mulch over the soil or, if you find the cats using your garden at the same time(s) each day, do your watering of the garden just before their usual time. They won't dig in damp soil. I like to put bark over my flower or vegetable beds as it helps keep the moisture in the soil and reduces the amount of watering needed.

I know this works with foxes, so it may well work with cats as well.

It's a free if not somewhat unconventional solution...

You need to mark your territory.. So the man of the house (you/your partner/a friend who owes you a favour) needs to pee all around the garden or pee in a bottle and pour it round the garden.

It's the testosterone in the wee that puts them off and marks the garden as yours.

It may sound weird but it does work...

Double barrell shotgun, or stick a banger up its jacksy and light it, u wont have that cat crapping on ur garden again.

Ps, only saying this for a laugh, I am an animal lover but cats drive me nuts by crapping all over my garden. Chuck a bucket of cold water over it, that will p it off.

There is a chemical you can pick up at lowes that keeps all animals out of plants, mostly dog and cats, it has a horrible smell so keep it away from the house. you just sprinkle it on the ground and the animals stay far away. another choice may be investing in a dog. LOL

Get a dog. I never had cats in my garden when I had a dog, but since he died local cats stroll regularly across my garden and I hate the smell of cat pee when I am gardening.

1. Get a dog.
2. Get a water pistol.
3. Shout at them out the window.
4. Get the plant that they don't like. (ask at your local garden centre, there is a plant you can buy that they HATE)

I use a pellet gun. Works perfectly.
How about a great big dog?
Newest cool tool...Airsoft. Not nearly as painful but it's still effective.
Also, try chili powder or any other super hot spiced. Sprinkle them around the garden.
