I am glad they chose Tom if they were in fact looking at Bill Murray, John Travolta and Chevy Chase. How in the world could they have pulled off the job he did? Tom Hanks flat out IS Forest Gump and just did the best job possible by mortal humans.

I heard that to. I also heard he did some of the weightlessness takes in Apollo 13. Constantly going up and down in that plane NASA uses gave Tom the willies. He's still a great actor though.
