I don't mind displaying affection for the person that I love. In any situation. Now, expectancy is a little different. If you are expected to display affection and you don't want to...I would ask yourself WHY. Is it the type of affection that is expected to be displayed? Some don't like to publicly display affection...not the over-bored "get a room" type...just the holding of hands. You need to either be more true to yourself and the other that is requesting the expectation. If my bf has expressed a certain expectation of affection, especially in front of others, I don't mind...but...there are boundaries that you need to convey, if you have issues with the type of affection to be displayed...if you are to have a working relationship. If it doesn't work for you OR the other...then it may be time to part, especially if this aspect is very important to both, but divergent.

If I don't have a relationship with someone and they are expecting a form of affection in reciprication, that is inappropriate...I tell them to back the hell off.

No. They make me feel happy, like all is well with the world. This is assuming, of course, that they are actually displays of affection, and not just unbridled lust! Hugging and kissing is sweet though.

Yes, especially if it's from a very "needy" person. I hate it when people demand affection. A lot of passive-agressive people do that. I don't like it. It needs to be freely given.

Yea. When my grandmother died, I felt bad because I wasn't crying. I was sad and wanted to cry, but with all the people around I just couldn't. People were giving me these looks like I must not care, but I truly did...

That would depend...if you are out and not really close to the people, then definitely feel uncomfortable. If it is someone that i really like and have a bond with, then not at all.
