I agree. What's distrubing is when both enemies start sounding the same, and one of those enemies is currently in power.

There are always those kind who hate democracy and our open society. By virtue of the openness of our society those folks will always be as they have been enemies of the people. That having been said those countries most worried about enemies of the state are fascist or communist states. They know their philosophy is wrong but do not want to be challanged. Truth hurts totalitarian governments where democracies thrive on it.

Yes there are people inside and out who want to harm us but if we are vigilant we will find them and stop them before they strike. We may miss one or two but that is the price for an open society. It is easier to deal with outside threats than inside ones as the inside ones often look, talk, and act just like us.

Not only does the United States have enemies inside and outside of the country but all countries do. Even totalitarian governments who squelch even the slightest hint of disagreement have people planning against them. Left alone Saddam would have toppled in a few short years due to the mounting opposition, some even his secret police may have been involved in or had missed stopping. The Soviet Union was brought down from inside just as much as outside and they had very tight controls.

Yes we have enemies, always have, always will.

Yes, I firmly believe we do.

The terrorists and the democrats. Unless the democrats turn into the Zel Millers. Until then, I see the democrats blindly destroying our country yet they don't see it. The terrorists are trying to destroy us and they know it.

We're in trouble if we don't stop them.
