As long as he wished with no elections to challenge his presidency?
Before you start-I know all about the two term limit. I know its not gonna happen. Im just curious if those who support President Bush would be Ok with allowing him to stay in office as long as he pleased if it came to that.

Yes. Aside from the Iraq debacle he's been a d*** good president. My taxes are lower and the economy is strong, Unemployment is low. We have to fight terror. Bush's opponent who think he orchestrated 9-11-01 are not thinking. I ask myself if Al Gore or Bill Clinton would have done any more than fire a missile at a camel in Afghanistan

This has liberal bate written all over it. OK. So Bush is president during a particularly chaotic time and has had to make some decisions that are not popular. Which president hasn't? I personally am happy that the economy is roaring and that we have not been hit in any way since 9/11. The majority of the people I know who verbalize their dissatisfaction with Bush are sadly under-informed and overwhelmingly influenced by single sources of news. In fact, the majority of people I meet who appear disgruntled about the presidency, foreign policy, the war, and the economy are in dire need of a good education. Asking a question like this is a waste of space on Yahoo's hard drive (but answering it was fun).

Absolutely not! To do so would undermine our consitution, and once you go down that path, there's no going back. I voted for Bush twice, but firmly stand behind term limits. It's one of the protections our constitution provides us against dictatorships. I'm not sure all the Clinton-lover Democrats could say the same. I know MANY who say they wish he was still in office. This is a criticism I have of many people I know. People need to stop and think about things instead of acting on emotional whims. There are consequences that must be considered. So even the best President in the history of time shouldn't be allowed more than his eight years.

LOL To those few people who are informed with "facts", understand history, the role of the Executive branch and it's limitations, have an understanding of the enemy, know Bush's long term plan to beat them and what he's accomplished despite the Democrats in Congress, yes he will be missed History will look very kindly of his administration. Be brave, reality is not so scary

No. Most Republicans don't agree with his Immigration policies, not his Foreign Policies. I think Republicans are looking for someone with a tougher stance on Illegal Immigration. His popularity is low because of his stance on Illegal Immigration. A majority of Americans are conservative. The state votes on Homosexual marriages and Abortions proved that with the last votes in Nov 06. It's not only libs bringing down his popularity it's republicans as well.

I believe it is necessary and important to have new people with new ideas in office every few years! I am glad that we have him for 2 more years, however.

hmmm, well, there's been worse... carter, nixon, clinton... i, for one, am happy we have a prez that's doing something besides having his thumb up his butt. he inherited this problem we're dealing with now. why do you think the others before him wouldn't take any appropriate action? because they knew how the american people would react. because most are simple-minded and only can see what right in front of them. bush sees the bigger picture. yeah, it sucks now. and our boys and girls are dyin', but because of bush's vision, free people everywhere (not just in US) will benefit from it. you wait and see. god help us if billary or obama get in office.
p.s. you people need to READ what this person said. this is just a fantasy hypothetical question....!!!

It would depend on who was his possible replacement. I personally don't like the idea of a President more than 8 years, although I would make an exception for Ronald Reagan
