0844 and 0845 calls are NOT local calls - they are typically charged at 5p per minute. The subscriber can choose to pay some of this, so if they pay 1p pm, you pay 4ppm, if they pay 5ppm you pay nothing. Guess which option most of them choose?

I strongly object to these numbers, especially as I pay for "all inclusive" calls; that package does NOT include 0844 and 0845 calls.

Try checking them out at saynoto0870.com - there is often an alternative becasue the 0844/5 number sits on top of their original number, which still exists.

BT charge for calls to this code at their g5 rate (Calls to Internet Services). It is 0.425p per minute (ex VAT), or approx 0.5p per minute (inc VAT) at Weekends 0.510p per minute (ex VAT), or approx 0.6p per minute (inc VAT) at Evenings & Night-time.
0.851p per minute (ex VAT), or approx 1p per minute (inc VAT) Daytime
