Nice one...it reminds me of when I was up at Manchester Uni years ago - most of the Mancs. I met 'hated London', but if City was playing, say, Chelsea or Arsenal etc...the dears would make a weekend of it, with the night after the match stalking around Piccadilly and Soho, then trot to their B+B/two-star hotel near Euston, and spend most of Sunday doing the usual touristy thing before getting on the late afternoon train home!
Methinks the NOTW haters are just the same sort of hypocrites - such readers are seen as ultimate commoners if they're caught gawping at half-dressed dears, or nodding agreeably at how 'Asians/West Indians/homosexuals' - etc are making the UK look 'like a massive council estate'.
Hypocrisy...Britains favourite pastime (which we've all delved into at times!).

Kookie - you're right...such tabloids would seem to be all fun and humour...but you'd be amazed how many take it seriously!

All too often the TV news programmes tell you what is in the papers in the name of doing a "paper review", and the same goes for all the stories in the soaps! If it's not that woman with the funny northern accent or the very lovely and wonderful Richard Arnold (well HE thinks he is!) on ITV giving away all the soap stories a week before they're shown then it's somebody else giving the game away! I'd like to see it all stopped so that those of us who actually WANT to read a newspaper have to buy one, and those sad ones amongst us who like to watch the soaps shouldn't have the plots revealed to spoil it for us.
So There ! ! !

I ALWAYS buy NOTW. It's just what you need on a lazy Sunday - Trash tabloids are so much fun.

I'd also like to point out that I am a grown up too and buy the Times. :) (lol)

People think it's common to buy these sorts of papers - but they are a bit of fun and quite lighthearted and trashy. They are a Trashy novel for people on the go.

Just look at National Enquirer and how popular that mag is! - People DO read it - they just don;'t admit it as they are not secure in their social standing.

I buy it. Theres nothing better on a Sunday when you cant be bothered thinking than to hear about which celebrity weird sex practise is in fashion or new photos of Pete Doherty shooting up.

People tell people "Oh did you read the TNOTW today, great story on BB wasn't there" See my point. It's word of mouth and not just that they always seem to sit there on the news talking about the media, "And in the TNOTW today, Saddam's last plee."

Word of mouth my friends.

Not everyone knows what is in NOTW. I don't. I also haven't watched the news today so apart from what was on the Yahoo news page when I logged in, I don't know what's going on.
