the call will still go through. by law the cell company has to allow this even if you have had your service stopped.

It will dial 911 and you will be connected to a dispatcher.

You may call 911 from a cell phone that has been disconnected. However, the 911 center will not receive the cell phone number and will not be able to call the cell phone back since it is disconnected. You must let the 911 dispatcher know that you are on a cell phone that is disconnected, and you also must know your location.

Why the heart attack? Did you do it and hang up real quick? If so it usually takes the phone company a while to figure out where you are and usually rely on a person telling them what and where the problem is.

As any old phone will work even without service there are often charity drives for people to donate them. They are given to old people or women who are in spouse abuse shelters to they can call for help even if they can't afford a cell.

We do get 911 calls from disconnected or uninitialized cell phones. If the recieving 911 center is Phase II they will also get your approximate location, but you should always tell them where you are at in case the phone disconnects.

all cell phones are mandated by FCC to be able to call 911 even if the service is canceled/disconnected. the only reason it would not work is if there was absolutely no signal available

Phones can dial emergency numbers in any emergency but DON'T try it unless you have an emergency as if you dial with no real intention, somewhere someone else in real need-needs their attention. It will waste valuable time. Remember too you can get into trouble if you waste time of official emergency services.

they still answer you, 911 works even if you don't have a network in your cellphone. it works anywhere, except if the line is dead in your phone house. like those scary movies. hopefully that won't happen to you. lol or you can call me/
