Japanese girls use a blade razor and shave every day to exfoliate rather than to remove hair.

Exfoiliate about once a week. I don't know what you want to exfoiliate, but here are some products you can use:

FACE: Try using some of that great Clinique stuff. It really works. Check out their website at www.clinique.com.

BODY: Go to Bath and Body Works or www.bathandbodyworks.com. They have some really great body scrubs there!

FEET: This is a great recipe. I love using it. It makes my feet feel great and refreshed. Before using this, make sure your feet are clean and moist (preferably after a shower). Here is the recipe:

Sugar Scrub

You will need: 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp olive, almond, or canola oil
Juice from 1/2 Lemon

What to do: Combine the ingredients in a medium-sized bowl.

How to use: Rub the mixture briskly all over your feet and up to your ankles. This is messy, so do it over a towel. Afterwards, rinse your feet in warm water and dry completely.

If you're talking about your face - most of the exfoliating scrubs tend to be too rough, but here's my honest answer: Use any kind of sensitive skin type face wash and take some baking soda from the kitchen and mix it in your hand with the product and work it gently around your face and rinse - it's the best stuff ever and I've tried a lot of different products, even some of the pricier ones that use stars to advertise them. Oh, and this is pretty gentle, so you can use it every other day or as needed if you want.

It depends on the area that needs exfolitating. If you are talking about your body, then a body scrub on a pouf will do for light exfoliation. If you need a little more attention or a deeper exfoliation, then try a loofah sponge (they are a little stiffer).

If you are talking about your face, then try a buf-puf sponge (get the gentle style) and use it with your favorite cleanser like phisoderm or whatever you may use that doesn't have any abrasive crushed nuts or microbeads. If you feel you need more, then try a microderm abrasion kit, but only use it once a week.

In all other cases, you can exfoliate 3-4 times per week if you feel you need it. Otherwise, for "normal" skin, twice per week should be sufficient, but don't do it 2 days in a row.

Hope this helps!

OMG, I totally started using the Aveeno Exfoliating Scrub from their Postively Radiant Line. I use the body one every day in the shower and facial one 2-3 times a week. LOVE IT!!! I use the Aveeno Daily Moisturizer under makeup 2-3 times a week, and the Nivea Q10 one 2-3 nights a week.

St Ives Apricot Scrub is the best exfoliator I have come across. You should exfoliate one to two times per day. I usually do it in the morning and at night. It is important to exfoliate so your pores don't get stretched out from getting so clogged.

I like St. Ives Apricot Scrub and Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub. You should exfoliate a few days a week to keep your skin looking fresh.
