Never try to tell your boss anything. If you undermine their security they will resent you and find subtle ways to punish you. The best thing you can do for them, and yourself, is allow them to destroy themselves and hope they don't take you with them. Play dumb and never volunteer.

I think that you should put a letter on his desk in disguised handwriting, letting him know that someone knows what he's up to. This way he may heed the warning, without any embarrasment to anyone. If he continues, then rat him up, whilst telling his boss that you do most of his work anyway, and then ask for his job! It's a ruthless dog eat dog world out there.

Or,
Just keep out of it as long as he doesnt drag you down as well hon, thats what matters.

You don't, unless you want to create problems for yourself. It may put your boss on notice to watch you for reasons to fire you. Why not alert his superior that there is something they need to be watching for? but not that they heard it from you.
