It takes women less effort to look good. They are inherently beautiful. Sure some of them get wrapped up with style, fashion, and whatnot and spend an unnecessary amount of time doing stuff, but in the end, they would be just as amazing (probably more due to less vanity) without it. Men don't look good, but (at least for mainstream United States culture) there aren't many options/standards for men. If they wanted to look good, it'd take a lot more effort.

A man because less is expected of him - no makeup or major effort just a good shower, shave and clean clothes.

A man has to put less effort into it because he doesn't have to counter the effects of ageing and because male fashions don't change quite so quickly.

the man just has to be fit ,although this could mean a lot of effort
.much more is expected of the women both on clothes and cosmetics
at least according to the husbands who have to foot the bills

it takes less for a man to look good. they dont hav to go through a womans beauty routine. beauty is pain....for women anyway. all hot guys hav to do is take a shower, wash their face, shave, gel/style their hair, spritz body spray/cologne and go and most dont even do all that. we on the other hand have more to do even if we're naturally beautiful we still enhance. pluck the eyebrows, shave the legs and underarms, take shower, wash face, moisturize, body lotion, style hair(straight iron, curl or natural with product). we wax, put on our makeup, put on perfume and some of us do even more. most dont look hot going au naturale without using or doing ANYTHING. so guys take less effort to look good.

Man, cause he shower combs the hair and puts on the clothes, women go through alot more to get dressed up.
