Helped the wealthy with tax cuts. According to Reaganista logic, when the rich and the corporations are super-wealthy, then they will give the poor a tiny piece of the pie.

Yeah, sure, the elites in our society will help the poor out once they acquire mountains of wealth.

And Osama just wants to give us presents too, right Cons?

Conservatives (as opposed to Republicans, which is a party not an idiology), believe that is better handled at the state and the local levels. Frankly, I agree, though it makes less of a news splash there.

Any federal program is of necessity "one size fits all". It doesn't though.

All it really does is establish another layer of people that soak up money that is needed for helping the disadvantaged.

People need to be helped one at a time, and the best people to know what they need are those that know them. A federal program generates a lot of paperwork, a flurry of activity, and little help.

Again, like many others on this board, you are confusing the politics with the issue. The issue is helping people be the most they can be, and caring for those that can't. The real question is the best method and place for delivering that care.

My feeling is that any time you put togehter a government program that requires the hiring of people who do not know the people needing help is wasting time, money, and resources.

The last time I looked the only "disadvantaged" were the people not willing to do what it takes to provide for themselves and their families.

Why would you want the Republicans, or any party, to take care of these people?

Let the "disadvantaged" cross the boarder to get jobs at below minimum wage.

They even went so far as to put water stations in the desert so the cheap laborers wouldn't die of thirst before they could take an Americans job.

Provide an economic climate to help create jobs. The best thing you can do for the "disadvantaged" is to create jobs. The government doesn't create them, businesses do. They can create the climate by lowering taxes and regulations that hinder job creation.

AS Reagan said, "Government isn't the solution. Government is the problem."

Sorry, that ain't the gvmt's job. If you feel the disadvantaged should be helped, open your own pocketbook.

I'm always amazed at liberals view that greed is the desire to keep your own property, and compassion is defined as taking money from other people by force, but not from yourself.

Why did Demonrats give away US economic soveriegnty to a privately owned corporation? Why do the Demonrats support abandoning that public policy which supports allowing one private corporation to own US monetary policy and impact American, and global, economic policy on such a broad scale? Why are the supporters of the Demonrats so ignorant of these facts?

This one private corporation is fully responsible for The Great Depression, the Agricultural Depression, World War I, World War II, the Oil Crunch, inflation, public indebtedness and the rise in taxation. In 1900, the average American paid about 5% of their earnings to support federal, state and local government. By 2000, that number was over 33% in combined tax burden. Public debt, in 1900, was non-existent. Today it is so unbelieveably staggering that neither political party seriously addresses the issue at all. It will bury America.

If you are unaware of these facts and which privately owned corporation that the Demonrats gave control of US monetary policy to (allowing one corporation tremendous influence over fiscal and economic policy) then it's only your fault.

You were born with a brain, you have the capability to think for yourself. It's not Government's job to educate you. The government is "we the people" and it's our job to inform ourselves and others.

You won't find these facts promoted in the propaganda (news) of mainstream media. The same people who own this one private corporation also control, by owning the majority stock, nearly all mainstream media in this country. They also actively recruit candidates for public office who will comply to their agenda regardless of political party affiliation.

I can tell you more about this but you probably don't want to listen much to the truth. Most people can't handle the truth. It's not as rosy as they've been sold previously. And their delicate hearts and fragile ego's might easily be overcome.

Does this mean I'm a pessimist? Hardly. There's much that can be done about this. But the first thing to do is to inform yourself and learn that much of what you think is simply what they've allowed you to think about in the way they want you to think about things.

First you must get to the facts. Then you can properly begin to inform others. Only after those two steps are taken, by millions, can the facts of the situation and the reality of the truth be dealt with in a way that truly helps the average American.

This is hardly about political parties because, as was alluded to previously, the folks who own the Federal Reserve, have a 14-point political agenda which includes finding compliant public servants to do their bidding. So look around in 2008 and find me one Presidential candidate who supports the abolition of a privately owned corporation dominating US monetary, fiscal and economic policy. When you find that one candidate you'll be closer to the truth than the owners of the Federal Reserve would ever hope for.

If you have any specific questions feel free.
