It is a popular sport in the USA, there is a season of a reasonable length, and the game has the opportunity for an unexpected outcome as most other sports.
The citizens of the USA could ask what is so great about soccer (what the rest of the world calls football), other than it being a good sport for kids to get involved in for exercise. I personally like most sports, with a few exceptions and let each enjoy their own preference.
Also, it is like any other sport. There is a system by which the best team is determined, and as with anything else that follows a similar method, there is that ever-present anticipation of the final show-down (a game against the best team from the two separate conferences [think divisions, even if it is the wrong word] - AFC and NFC), the best available people on two teams, battling for the championship.
This basic reason is why most people enjoy being a spectator of competitive teams sports.
Finally, one player isn't in the spotlight (usually) - it truly is a teamwork oriented activity.

The Super Bowl is the Championship game of the NFL. Why we are so crazy about it, because football is the number 1 sport in the US. Its big like Soccer for the rest of the world. When comes to football, you will see how every american come close with each other to enjoy this sport. Black, white, brown I don't care, u in the US you gonna love football. Football is everything to us Americans. Just like Soccer is to England, Brazil, Jamaica, France.

it's not the last game of the year, the pro bowls next weekend. it's the biggest football game of the year between the NFC and AFC. a lot people just watch it for the commercials and the half time show.

Not all Americans are crazy about the Super Bowl. The only thing that excites me about it is that it is the last football game for 7 months!
