Food, water, snacks for the her? I just got her from my "oh-so caring" boyfriend as an early valentines day gift, but I have no idea how to care for her, or what they need to be happy. Ugh. Help, someone?

- A safe and secure enclosure. A 10 gallon glass fish tank is the easiest to clean, keeps the drafts out, and you can enjoy seeing your mouse.

- Don't forget the mesh lid that will seal securely. My first mouse climbed on his wheel, got out and chewed up my TV cord. Not safe for the mouse and not fun for your pocketbook to fix.

- A skinny glass water bottle. Usually better than the plastic ones and last longer.

- Cedar shavings. Smell better, easy to clean. Be sure to have the shavings at least 2-3 inches high when you first put in. Mice like to burrow like any other rodent.

- Be sure to clean your tank at least every 1-2 weeks. You can see how dirty it is (check the bottom) and you can smell it too.'

- Ceramic food bowl that will be the size of your mouse's body. Heavy so they can't move around and easy to clean.

- Mouse food is easily found at pet stores.

- A metal wheel for the mouse to run in.

- A little plastic house or whatever the mouse can hide and seek in.

- Wood toys to gnaw on.

- Little snacks are a great treat for the mouse.

- Run about ball. Great exercise and fun to watch your mouse run around. Just do it in the kitchen so you can clean up the droppings easily. They look really cute when they run in these. http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441777020&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302047891&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023695&bmUID=1170697772520&itemNo=3&Ntt=ball&In=Small+Pet&previousText=ball&N=2023695

- Enjoy your new pet!

You need a small tank or mouse cage, a food bowl, mouse food and a water bottle. Put in some toilet paper cardboard rolls. There are lots of stuff at the pet store.

Firstly a mouse can eat everything so there is no problem, but if cheese feeding is done, you can achieve best results.A mouse cannot live alone so he/she should have a mate.Like you n your boyfriend.Feed your mouse for few days n leave him/her in is natural habitat,as these are not made for petting, there lifespan is not much n after its death you'll never be happy. Ask him to have you a GERMAN SHEPHERD puppy.I do'nt know but if i would be having a girlfriend i'd never given such foolish organisms.

buy it a friend, but make sure your mouse isn't aggressive to begin with. get a small tank with a wheel or something and a tunnel for it to hide and sleep under. mouse/rodent food should be supplied at pet stores and chewing wheels for keeping their teeth healthy. a water tube for them to get their own source of water. it doesn't take much to care for them. just remember to feed it everyday and change its cage and water. oh, also don't wash it that often because you might wash out the essential oils of it.

she'll need a cage, water bottle, food dish, toys (this includes you) and a bedding (never pine or cedar as they release phenols that are toxic to rodents). rodents constantly chew so she'll need something to chew on. the cage will have to have bars that are small enough that she cannot get her head through the spaces as mice have collapsable rib cages and if they can get their head through the body will follow. you could also use a habitrail cage or an aquarium to house her in. since she is alone she may need more attention than if she were to have a cage mate. if you do get her a cage mate you may want another female unless you want a litter of babies about every three weeks. mice that breed tend to have shorter life spans though.
