When will Liberals realize?
That their socialist political system and utopian, altruistic government worldview is not plausible?

How many failed Socialist and Communist systems do they have to see before they realize a government that takes from the rich and gives to the poor stifles entrepreneurism? Why work hard if you will get support from the nice government?

Why is it so hard for them to realize hard work and responsibility is the true American way, and their way would reduce us to Soviet wanna-bes?

so·cial·ism Pronunciation[soh-shuh-liz-uhm] Pronunciation Key - –noun 1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
3. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

Liberals clamoring for a welfare state would feel right at home in Venezuala. Chavez is your idol. All I hear form Liberals is how corrupt and bad big business is, all Bush cares about is big business, etc.

Liberals would love for the government to take over big business and hand it out to the people.

They just don't realize doing this would end big business.

Your question at least cites a reasonable definition of socialism, "that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole."

But where are you getting this nonsense about liberals? I haven't heard an American liberal advocate public ownership of the means of production and distribution, not ever. An American liberal wants to live in a capitalist democracy in which the government addresses certain problems, particularly poverty. You may call that utopian or stupid, but not socialist. Reread your definition of socialism.

Our government gives some support to the poor, true enough. You think that "stifles entrepreneurism"? Horse dung! Entrepreneurship (I think it is a ship and not an ism) has been busting out on all sides continuously right through the New Deal and welfare state periods. When are you "liberalism=soviet communism" people ever going to look at a graph or read some history!

Well, your question sounds nice and tidy, however, there are several flaws in your argument. First off, you present a false dilemma between laissez-faire economics and "Soviet wanna-bes". The truth is that the answer lies in a middle ground, where opportunity is maximized, while the detrimental effects of capitalism are minimized. This means some government regulation.

I would also remind you that your nation was founded by people who very much against the ideas you espouse. The major cause of the American Revolution was just as much the tax breaks given to major corporations to the misery of local merchants who couldn't compete. The Tea Act was a giveaway to the East India Company, who was bankrupting our local entrepreneurs. THAT is why they threw all that tea into Boston harbor.

Jefferson was also very adamant against allowing families to grow huge masses of wealth and property. He called this an "Artificial Aristocracy". Progressive income taxes and the estate tax are both based on Jefferson's warnings about losing democracy to the elite and powerful. Looking at the Congress today, and the lobbying crowd, one can only label Jefferson a prophet.

Now that we liberals propose to correct this problem, conservatives are reacting in ignorance of history and context.

You use the US as an example of democracy?? WOW, have you been asleep for the last 7 years? Not heard of the Patriot Act?, serious, what America was America now isnt, and I cant see it ever being again. But hey you voted them, the second time although I realise the first time was stolen, but isnt that the reason you are allowed to bear arms, to get rid of a corrupt Government by force, if you cant by election?, how so much has changed

Why do categorize liberals with socialism and communism? Those political persuasions are far right. You fell into a trap that many people do. With socialism you have both left leaning and right leaning thoughts. Mussolini introduced socialism to Italy--that was far right as you can go with him as dictator.

Liberals are too far left and conservatives are too far right. Start traveling to the far left and you end up right. Travel to the far right and you end up left. Both are similiar in their nuttiness. This is why I'm a Libertarian.
