I have a 3.5 floppy disk that has pictures on it that I want to look at but I'm having a problem with that. My pc keeps asking me to format the disk and I don't know if it will hurt my pictures or not. These pictures are irreplaceable so I need to find out if it'll hurt my pics if I format the disk.

If you format the disk, you are pretty much wiping everything on it out.
You might want to try the disk in a different machine in case your drive is bad.
It may have been formatted on an older computer - see if anyone you know has an older one that you can view the pics on, and then e-mail them to yourself or something.

YES it will destroy the disk. Find a reputable repair person and see if they can save the data. It is often possible with just minor loss.
Do NOT use floppies for long term storage or important information! They really don't work well for that. If you have a lot of floppies, start copying them to a hard drive then to a CD, DVD, or flash, depending on how many you have.

Formatting the disk will wipe out all data on the disk....including your pictures.

Format means erase all data on drive, if you cant rescue the image then your floppt still needs to formated, say goodbye...

1 copy pics to cdrive

What you need is data recovery software that can recover pictures on a floppy disk. There are professionals who do this or you can try on your own.
I have not tried the following. Please read carefully before you decide to install and try.
