Never. I have given many thumbs up to answers when I have answered the same question. My intellectual integrity is worth a lot more than 10 points.

I answer most all of my questions in Computer and Internet, and for some reason, I rarely ever see ANYONE do that in that section anyway, maybe because there are a lot of considerate nerds there? I dont know, but I do see it happening in other categories that I read more than in Computers.
For the sake of this question tho, I will do it for this one.
(All in good spirits of course)

No, the only time I give a thumbs down is when someone resorts to unnecessary name calling.....or they are really telling a huge falsehood due to ignorance(lack of knowledge).

You know, I've wondered about that myself. I often go back and read answers, and see 'thumbs down' next to my answer. I'm not thin skinned, and I'm not insulted or hurt, but I can't help but notice this happens without rhyme or reason. My answer could be identical to another, yet I've got a thumbs down, and they don't.
