being an international student myself I think I can help you.

you should first apply for schools. Browse the internet for the schools that have the programs you want. After you get into a school you are supposed to apply for a student visa. The visa part differs based on the country that you live in. To make sure what are the regulations for your country you should call up the US embassy in your country and make an appointment.

Good luck

This is not really a big problem. There are over 500,000 international students studying in the USA this minute. You need to decide what part of the USA you want to be in, what schools might be good for you, what major you will study, etc.

In order to get a better idea about that, you can go to the collegeboard.com website where they have a system to help you pick out the school that is best for you from the 3,800 colleges in the USA.

American schools are used to having foreign students apply, they have experience at evaluating foreign school credentials, and they can give some advice about how to deal with the government paperwork. Once you have decided on a few schools you want to investigate, check their website and send them an email.

The one thing you will not be able to get is money. In nearly all cases the scholarship money for students is reserved to American students. So you will need a LOT of money, and you will not be able to count on getting a job...

If you want to become a citizen you will need a green card. The USA are letting very few foreigners in the country these days. And what university are you speaking of.? The USA has many universities.

I actually moved to the states from South America 5 yrs ago to go to college. First you need to look at the schools you are interested in and once you have applied and gotten into one, with a proof of the school that you have been accepted you will automatically receive a "student visa" ( you have to apply for one) and that will allow you to live here for as long as you want, as long as your a student. You can also work but only within the school~ Once you are here, if you want to stay longer you can apply for a green card but you don't have to unless you are planning to stay and work here. You can also just get a regular visa and apply once you are here, but I will strongly recommend you apply for a school before you move and get your student visa. American Universities welcome international students and t is fairly easy to get in. Good luck!

First, find WHAT SUBJECT you want to study, then find a CONTACT PERSON in this area. They will tell you which Universities to apply for. Then, you must send applications. AFTER you are accepted somewhere, do the paperwork: call the american embassy and ask what papers/Visa you need.

1. Below you will find a link to a publication called "If You Want To Study in the U.S." It is produced by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State.
--------------------------------------
2. There is also a link to local information. Maybe there is a center located near your town.
--------------------------------------
3. The third link contains information about student visas. This is a requirement for all students coming to the US to study.
