so far i have recieved a good response, but let me clarify. I actually am a snowboarder, so if this changes anything, please let me know. Also, how bout the best resort in North America? I am planning a trip to Whistler in April and thought this was the "best" place to ski/snowboard. They have a record 31 ft of snow since Nov. 1 this year! Amazing!

It depends on the type of skiing you want to do and your level of expertise. Telluride, Co. is an excellent expert area but does have good intermediate & beginner terrain. Alta, Utah is awesome and Snobird is pretty good too. Aspen has a good mountain but it's to snooty for me. Breckenridge is very good. It has tons of intermediate slopes and the back bowls are awesome. I'm not real fond of West Coast areas as their snow tends to be heavier and wetter than the Rockies though they too have great terrain. The East Coast has some good ones and you will learn how to use your edges because it's often very icey.

Well, if your talking about the WHOLE resort experience then it's Aspen. Aspen is great all around. Instead of a village it has a town, there are four mountians to choose from for all different levels (Ajax, Snowmass, Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands), and there is always something going on and something to do.

If you're talking just about the riding/skiing, then pick somewhere else because Aspen is too much of a tourist location. Vail in Colorado, Snowbird in Utah, Jackson Hole in Wyoming and Squaw Valley in California are great.
