We have a local charity who normally accept this kind of thing but they are currently fully stocked. The stuff is all in good nick and includes a high chair, baby walker, travel cot, potty, etc. I don't want to take it to the tip if it can go to a good home.

Is there a LIFE centre near you? My mum does a lot for them, they aim to help pregnant and new mums who may not have that supprt from home - the girls are often (but not always) young, and often grateful for this kind of thing.

Check http://www.lifeuk.org/index.php for a centre in your area who may be very happy to be able to pass on your equipment.

Take it to your local nursery, they are always glad of new equipment and even if they don't use it they always know a mum who is not so well off that could really do with it. Also i know a midwife who takes in all old equipment and clothes because some mums she visits have absolutely nothing for their new baby - no clothes, no cot, no anything! So that could be a nice idea too

I don't live in the northwest however what we have here is a battered women's shelter. That might be an option because so many of those women leave with nothing other than the clothes on their backs and a lot of them have children. The shelter here is grateful for anything, and I mean anything, that is donated to them.

strange as this may sound, some daycares are also willing to accept donations.

Just a thought.

Contact your local NCT (National Childbirth Trust) branch and ask about their next Nearly New Sale. You can either sell your stuff to make yourself some pocket money (a percentage of the sale price goes to them, too) or just donate so that they receive all proceeds.

When I went home from the hospital, they sent me home with information on local church groups who would either give me free baby equipment, or take my donations. I would call your hospital, and ask if they have these same resources, or you could call the churches in your area.

Stick an Ad in your local paper - sell it for a nominal fee, that should ensure it goes to good use.

try pre-schools or even a local dr's or hospital...failing that put a local advert in your paper and sell it and give the money to charity.

Is there a Sure Start group near you?
Or perhaps you could join a freecycle group and get rid of it that way? Try this link:
