How can you not know. It's all they talk about

It's about time.

However, that it was made into such a big deal just shows how pervasive racism still is in America. We shouldn't *care* what color skin the coach has...that we have to point out he's the first black coach to win shows that many Americans still think it's a novelty and something of an aberration. Very sad.

It's a cool fact, but I agree, they don't have to tell us every three minutes. It's not as big as an African American winning president. If that happened, I wouldn't mind it being every three minutes because that would be a major feat in society today.

Better than being the first African-American to lose a Super Bowl. Congratulations to Lovie Smith for that achievement.

I don't think they played it up too much game day - but before the superbowl they overplayed it. I agree.

What about the fact that he's been to the superbowl twice and won both times? Once as a player and once as a coach.

Has that happened before? Do you think they'll hype that as well?

I don't think that too much emphasis was put on it.It is now a historic milestone in NFL histyory. It would have been the same if Lovie Smith won.

Maybe they did, but it's about time someone actually cared more than with a tacit recognition of the man's ability as opposed to his skin color.

Yes, we knew that. History in the making deserves some attention.

yeah it's stupid. Race shouldn't be a factor but I guess the media has to find something interesting to throw at us.
