I have remarried and gone Bankrupt several years ago. How long do I have to wait to start getting it again!

To apply for the GST credit, you and your wife must file income tax returns every year and check "yes" in the box that asks if you are applying for it. The CRA uses both of your incomes to calculate this credit - that's why you need to send in both returns. If your combined income in 2006 was less than $30,000 you should receive a credit, but if it is close to that amount it won't be much. A few weeks after you file your return for this year, you will receive your "notice of assessment" in the mail. On it, aside from a summary of your return, it will also have your RRSP deduction limit as well as whether or not you qualify to receive the GST credit (and how much it should be). If you do qualify, you should receive your first payment near the beginning of July 2007.

To find out if you are eligible and how to apply, use this link:

To "plug in" some numbers to find out if and what you will get, use this one:

I hope this helps. =)

Check with the income tax department. They would have all the information, you will have to answer a lot of questions in order to get the info because they won't give it to you unless you do.
