I plan on going all breast for the first month or so, but want to get a pump to help with my milk production and to save milk for other people to feed my baby. I can either rent one from the hospital which will be $60 for first two months, then $30/month after that, buy the Medela New Pump In Style Original Breast Pump
for 249.99 or Avent ISIS iQ UNO Complete Breast Pump
for 199.99. Which option is best? Or do you know of another pump that is better? I know breastfeeding is difficult, but I want to do it as long as possible. If I rent for 3 months, that's already $150!!!

Medela Pump 'n Style is WELL worth the investment.

Now, because it does pump breast milk, which is a human fluid, it is suggested that pumps are one user only. However, the way the pump 'n style is designed, you can buy new tubing and adapters for around $15, and use a used pump, because the milk doesn't actually go INSIDE the pump. I paid $250 for my Pump 'N Style three years ago. One of my friends bought one on ebay a year later for $50, and you can't tell them apart.

Good luck!

Medela all the way!!I just stopped pumping a month ago and loved my medela!!Personally I would not rent one,if you have more children you will have the pump they are a good investment.
The Avent Isis hand pump I also used,it was great but the manual ones are very hard on the hand.

I'd plan on just buying one if your plan is to BF for any length of time. The newest model the Medela has out is called the Symphony, it's awesome works great your done pumping in about 10-15 min. tops. Another good option is the Pump In Style Advanced, which is also a good pump but I personally perfer the Symphony over the PISA. They retail for anywhere between 300-$450 But i's worth the investment if you plan on only BF or are planing on haveing more children to use it also.

I loved my Ameda Purely Yours. It's comparable to the Medela. Check the area-your hospital may sell replacement parts for one brand or another. I occasionally see pumps in second-hand stores, but I recommend buying a new one.

It depend how much you use. I use medela swing because I stay home mom and just use it occasionally like if I missed feeding. but if you want to go back to work you need better model like pump in style.

Good Luck,

I had a Medela, it worked soooo well....much better than the one in the hospital! It's a lot of money, but if you're planning on having another baby you can save it.

I loved my Medela, and it was a less expensive model than the one you have mentioned above. It worked wonderfully, and I used it steady for four months. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Medela to anybody.

If you or your husband work for a company, their HR might be able to point you to their lactation program, which can get you a fantastic deal on a pump. If you work for a larger company, and they dont have a lactation program, request that they get involved in one.
