How do you figure that?

Interesting. The Water Bill at my home is nothing compared to what I pay at the Gasoline pump each month.

By the way, bottled water is the same thing that comes out of the faucet, so you're paying over a dollar to drink something that comes out of a plastic bottle (and plastic is a carcinogen, so you're increasing your chances of getting cancer when you drink bottled water).

Because people will buy it rather than using tap water. We've been told bought water is healthier, purer, parasite free, etc. Top that off with a fancy label/name and advertise so people know the name, and, ta da, you are making money on water.

What people don't understand is that it all comes from under the ground. It's municipalities that add harmful chemicals to the water to make it more "drinkable." And one huge bottled water company was cited as filling their bottles with tap water near New York City. MMMMM...good water.

A fool and his money are soon parted. It's all marketing. And marketing means, 'Charge what the market will bear.'
Since there is no regulation on bottled water companies, and since about a third of bottled water sold in the U.S. is polluted, I'd have to say it isn't really a wise purchase. Invest in a home filtration system instead, and fill your own bottle to take to work. That way, you know what you're getting. Best of luck.

People are willing to pay huge money for de-mineralized, ozonated, mineral free, or enriched, flavour added, flavour free, what ever the marketing ploy is as long as it comes in a fancy bottle.

From the tap it is much much cheaper.
