The solution is simple, but cruel:
Get clickin', son.
There *is* a box at the top of each "page" of mail (next to the "Sender" column header) that selects all of the mail in that page. Then you can just hit the delete - but you're still talking about a lot of clicking.
Ow.
P.S. Don't forget to empty your trash after you delete all this stuff. "Deleting" in Yahoo means "Move to Trash folder and save it, till the fool empties that, too..."
P.P.S. Get Mozilla Thunderbird for a client, and a real email address. Much less painful.

Hit ctrl + A to select them all. Then hit the delete button. Be warned, though. This will delete ALL OF THEM. If you want to keep any, move them to a different folder first.
if you are on a Mac, the control button is the apple key. Same thing, though.

only in the previous the messages commence, there's a heading with an empty field, pronounced through difficulty, Date, and length. click on the field, and that is going to spotlight each and each and every of the bins, then click delete.

you have an option to put a tick next to a message and at the top of the page if you put a tick above your very first message it will tick them all. should be like a grey bar going across the top of your messages tick there.
