Hehe. It figures that many answerers dont listen to the "chose only one" part. Soo funny.
Anywho. The one i pick out of them would be Yu Yu Hakusho. It is among my rare fave animes that went ongoing. It's story and characters were quite entertaining. It's my fave out of all that you listed.

I think my personal favorite out of those listed would be Negima. While I do like Fruits Basket, YuYu Hakusho, and Orphen, (I don't know what Spiral and Case Closed are) I prefer Negima. I like the fact that it has a large number of different characters. I think most people should be able to find a character they like and can relate too.

My favorite anime (out of the choices) would have to be uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..........
well, most likely it would have to be Yu Yu Hakusho because there are a lot of story lines in the series that correspond with the 4 main characters. Especially Yusuke.

What kind of genre are you in the mood for?
Spiral--I haven't gotten to see it yet. I could ask my friend about it and update this post further, but until then, I shall basically ignore this suggestion.
Orphen--same as Spiral
Fruits Basket-- A lovely series for those in the mood for, to quote one anime character (can anyone guess who? :D) "Love handsome men with dark complex backgrounds/secrets". It's more about a girl, Tohru Honda, who stumbles upon the Sohma family secret--all the family members are possessed by spirits of the Zodiac! The storyline follows how Tohru heals each Sohma member of their wretched pasts and looks for a way to remove this curse, while along the way there's a large part of romance and a love triangle involved.
YuYu Hakusho--never really cared for it. It seemed to drag on for me, unfortunately ^.^;; (sorry if that offends anyone in any way, I just really couldn't get into the series)
Case Closed is a long series, originally known as "Detective Conan" in Japan about mystery, suspense, and romance, with a hint of comedy ^.^ Basically it's about a high school detective who's a bit of an egotistical kind of guy and one day ends up running into a top-secret organization known as the syndicate. The men, after discovering that Jimmy Kudo (the high school detective) was following them and saw them murder someone, decide after roughing him up a bit to give him some mysterious potion, which then turns him into a child! So when Jimy finds out, he ends up on a wide-spread chase after the syndicate, looking for a way to get his body back and find out who they really are--just without them realizing that he's still alive, and that his best friend doesn't realize who he is either (since he doesn't want to get them involved).
Negima--Adorable. Just adorable. story of a ten-year-old magician prodigy preparing to graduate by finishing his training by going out into the real world doing whatever he is told to. Young Negima, the shy, quiet daydreamer, was determined to succeed. Little did he know that he'd be teaching English at an all-girls' school! That's basically the storyline, and the series follows all of Negima's fun-filled days....and by fun I mean, things that pretty much are only hilarious to the viewers, but embarassing mishaps for the characters ^.^
Sorry for making such a long reply, but I wasn't sure how to answer, as they all were better than the other series in certain categories. it really just depends on what you're in the mood for. Hope you enjoy whichever one you pick!! ^.^

Spiral
I've never seen Orphen or Negima, but I doubt I'd like either as much as Spiral.
Spiral kept my attention, and was a wonderful series. The characters are well developed, and every episode leaves you longing for me. :)
I may have originally said Fruits Basket, because I love that anime to pieces, but... I'm angry at the manga right now, and can't bring myself to put it above Spiral. ^^; (IMO Natsuki Takaya let a lot of people down with her ending and... I just thought it wasn't nearly as well-developed as the beginning... it's like she lost her inspiration, and it's sort of depressing. :/)
Case Closed is good too, but the episodes seem a bit repetitive. ^^; (sort of like InuYasha...)

Spiral-Its good Anime series its about bladechild or some like that on Funimation Channel or get DVDs.
Orphen-Never hear it should check out.
Fruits Basket-Oh man its good Anime series its on Funimation Channel or get DVDs.
YuYu Hakusho-Its awesome show but miss 2004 to 2006 and yes I miss last episode.
Case Closed-Good show should get DVDs or watch on funimation channel and yes they had first movie.
Negima-Oh my gosh that show so funny should get DVDs too.

ummmm.....I'd have to say Fruits Basket because its so kawaii, and it has the zodiac curse. Juunishi-idea is original and I like how the story goes.
