LOTR JRR Tolkien, of course. Still get chills rereading it at points!

It's hard to choose just one. My more introspective side would probably pick something from John Steinbeck like "Of Mice and Men", "The Pearl", or "The Moon Is Down".
In all honesty, though, while I consider it a bit of a "guilty pleasure", I remember really enjoying Stephen King's "The Dead Zone". (Just don't watch the movie.)
For a short story, I always liked "By The Waters Of Babylon" by Stephen Vincent Benét . Go to my source link and read it yourself, and take into consideration it was written in 1937, long before many others copied the basic premise.
Oh, wait, I also really liked Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery" (link provided as well).
I must stop now, because I'm thinking of so many others... "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Beirce, "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Cask of Amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe, "The Monkey's Paw" by W. W. Jacobs was kind of fun, etc, etc, etc.
See, it's too hard to choose just one...

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy-by Adam Douglas
It's hilarious, a good book if you can pick-up on the subtleties of the twisted humor. LMAO
Here's a quote:
What to do if you find yourself stuck with no hope of rescue: Consider yourself lucky that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn't been good to you so far, which given your present circumstances seems more likely, consider yourself lucky that it won't be troubling you much longer.

Out of the Narnia books "The Horse and His Boy" was also my favorite.
My favorite fictional book is "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer.

Finished reading a good thriller "Angelhair" by Joseph Noga. Go to the authors website www.joenoga.com if you want to check out a free preview of the book. It's really good. It's one of those books that after you finish reading it you want to be the first to tell others about, that's kinda want I'm doing here huh? Enjoy the read

Where Did This Come From? by Larry Nocella. Mr. Nocella is a new author and this is his first novel. I liked the story for its relevance to today's issues and the clever ending. Look it up on Amazon.com.
