That is a Harvey Milk Quote

2007-02-05 04:17:13 · answer #1 · answered by Heather 2 · 1 0

I think that quote is attributed to Karl Marx and is probably still true today - just look at the Sudan, Somolia, Israel and the Palestenians today, the mongols of yesteryear or the Crusades. I guess you could also say that Hitler killed all of the jews because of their religion or his lack thereof... There are also a lot of historical slaughters including the whites and Indians in US history, and world history that had nothing to do with religion so maybe it is just human nature for men to kill each other, ie the strong survive theory?

Facts remain facts, even if denied or not accepted. Yes it is true true that more people have been slaughtered in the name of religion than for any other single reason.

This is so true. The crusades, the holocaust, and countless other wars. I thought murder was a sin, but appartenly it isn't if you are supporting your belief. That's a true perversion also.

I agree intoto. A world without the evil called religion would be a much better word, with unfettered progress, civilisation and liberty!

Very true my friend. But the culprit is not the religion, it is the one thinking he is the one to take the decisions of God. Sad but true.
