i wouldnt, everything you read and hear says to lay on your left side, supported by a pillow. I just wouldnt chance it. Yes the baby is protected and all of that, but why do you think they say not to lay on your back? Because its harder for the baby to get oxygen. theres no way laying on your tummy can make that baby breath easier. :) Thats my opinion!!

By the way i have 4 boys and one on the way :)

I have had 4 children and I have slept in many positions, but early in the pregancy the 'belly' was the most comfortable laying position. I asked the doctor the same question many, many years ago and the answer was, " If its comfortable for you...do it and if it is not, then find an alternative position to sleep in". My children's ages range from 17-22, so I guess the belly sleeping didn't harm them!LOL!

My OB told me I could lie on my stomach as long as I was able to or comfortable doing it. We read so much in prenatal books and everyone has their own opinion. I think sometimes we just need to use common sense. I also slept on my back during most of my pregnancy because that was the only way I could sleep. I had sciatic nerve problems before I got pregnant, so it was very uncomfortable for me to lie on my left side. My OB told me that sleep is very important, so I need to sleep the way I am comfortable. My daughter was a full-term healthy baby.

I asked my OB about this during my last pregnancy. It is perfectly safe to lay on your stomach. The reason they say not to lay on your back during the last few months is for YOU--the baby can press on important arteries and interrupt oxygen flow. This could also hurt the baby, of course, but my OB insisted I would feel the effects long before my child did.

As long as you are comfortable your baby is safe. In fact, I had polyhydramnios (high amniotic fluid levels), and my OB suggested I try laying on my stomach on a hard surface as long as it didn't hurt me so that I could feel my son move more easily.

Good luck!

I've never heard differently. There's not really much in your laptop that could do any damage? It's just hardware. If you're going to be concerned I'd say keep your belly away from your cell phone or the microwave (and even those are a very very very small risk). Well, I hope it's safe anyways, because mine's on my lap right now!! =) Just kidding. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I usually stop sleeping on my stomach around 12 to 16 weeks. I have been pregnant 4 times now. It just depends on when you start to feel uncomfortable. But you are not hurting your baby.

I have heard it is okay as long as you are comfortable. I can fall asleep on my left side and still wake up on my stomach so I hope so. I am five months pregnant and every morning wake up on my stomach. Good luck and congrats

It is okay to sleep on your stomach. Nothing will happen. As time go on and your belly gets bigger you will not be able to sleep on your stomach.

I am on baby number 2 and I am going into my 6th month. I still sleep on my stomach and when I find myself laying to long on it my baby girl moves and kicks to remind me to roll over once and awhile.

depends on how many months you are. See im only 9wks and sleep how i feel comfortable. they say around 14wks or when you start showing you should go ahead and start sleeping on your side. if you sleep on your stomach you put pressur on the baby if you sleep on your back the baby don't get good blood circulation. Sleeping on you side helps the baby get blood circulation and don't put pressure on it.
