I FOUND IT!!

Ahem. Just kidding.

Seriously - just go to the tech who is on duty (that's the extremely bored cat hanging out at the front desk), and explain your problem. You'll find out fairly promptly whether your school takes routine backups before wiping the machines.

If they *don't* take backups, then you will have just learned one of the earliest, and hardest, lessons about living with computers: save regularly and make regular backups, Grasshopper.

Look at it this way - at least you're still a student. Do that once you have a job, and you can get into serious doo-doo.

You can use data recovery software but it is not possible in college computers as we are not allowed to install files on these. i wuold suggest you to download recover4all (do check the OS version and all), install it in ur comp and then take a copy of the installed folder from C:\Program files\recover4all and then copy it to the college computer and search for the file.

All the best :)

It might be that you don't remember where you saved the file - do a search - right click the hard drive in MyComputer or Windows Explorer -> choose search. You can search by name, partial name , by date modified, and so on....

Ask somebody for help you do the search if you are still having troubles finding your file.

Good luck

the only thing you can do is do a search on the library computer.
you could ask them to ask a tech if they could do a salavge on the computer, also look in the tmp dirctory it will save a temp file if you saved it, it's a long shot.
