I suppose the SPR is available for tapping. But the buddy's of GW Bush don't make nearly as much in profits when the SPR is utilized. So to keep money flowing (no pun intended) the SPR isn't utilized when it could benefit the American consumer the most.

The SPR has been tapped. It was tapped once under Clinton, and once under Bush last summer. There's only enough oil in there to run the country for a week, it wouldn't do much good. It's there as a last reserve, in case we got cut off from oil we could launch a major war for it and be fueled for a week.

The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up in order to prepare the way for the kings from the east. And I saw three foul spirits like frogs coming from the mouth of the dragon, from the mouth of the beast, and from the mouth of the false prophet. These are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.

Why should we use the strategic reserve? There is plenty of oil coming in and the price is way down from were it was or hadn't you noticed?
