I heard from someone that it is good for your baby if you listen to Beethoven? Mozart? while pregnant - as it will help soothe the baby and help in its developments? Any suggestions ? Links to music?

I listen to Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Sublime, Pearl Jam and Oasis. I've never believed any of that stuff they say about classical music making children develop any differently. And if it does, at least I'll have a mellow reggae loving little girl.

Listen to calming, gentle music. Mozart is certainly that, along with Scarlatti and others. Go to a music shop and ask for classical and baroque music, chamber music particularly. You don't want the "loud Russians" (Prokofiev and co), but something that creates a sense of security and peace.
Someone recommended natural sounds such as rain and birdsong...and excellent idea. Check out http://www.wildsong.co.uk where you can buy CD's of natural birdsong, rain etc. recordings.
I don't know whether it will actually stimulate teh baby's brain development, but it is a fact that the baby hears what's going on around you and picks up on your emotional state. So go for things that create a sense of well-being, happiness and peace.

it is said that if you put headphones on your belly and play music like mozart to the baby that it will help with brain development. Personally i don;t think it does anything of the sort, but it can;t hurt now can it. my baby is listening to the ramones right now, he seems to like it to. kick kick kick all day long!

Get any classical music CD, put it on your radio, hook up your headphones and place them on your belly.

My friends little boy loved and still loves system of a down, bon jovi and savage garden. He'd also kick and now cry when a boy band comes on. Haha. He's so cool.

I'd suggest something calming. and something you won't mind listening to after he/she's born, as listening to music that they heard when they're in the womb can help calm them.

hope that made sence :S

Yes, music is good. And definitely classical music. Avoid acid rock and rap - they'll do nothing for your child's development!
