Can't see you going to jail, but you can expect a heavy fine, however you may be given leniancy with the fact that there were mitigating circumstances, but I can't say wether that will or won't happen.

I'm presuming that it was your child injured at school, and that you wanted to get there as quickly as possible to be with them. So I understand that you'd have been stressed until you saw them, however this means that you were driving whilst in a state of agitation, whilst not able to drive due to medical reasons, whilst uninsured etc. I'm sure you can understand why so many people are unhappy that you did this. A taxi, a neighbour? would have been a better choice.
I doubt you'll go to jail, but you should expect a fine and a driving ban, though that's not really going to mean much if you don't really drive!
How would you have felt if your anxiety over your child's injury had caused you to lose control and injure another child?

Generally you will not go to jail for this offence - especially if it your first time. Not sure where you are from however in the UK these offences generally carry the following : No licence - On average 6 points with a fine also, insurance is the same. As you have no licence you would still get disqualified from driving for a set period if convicted - generally a year. Should you get caught driving whilst then disqualified the penalty is more severe with the possibility of a custodial sentence.

I doubt that you will go to jail, but I'm gald you got stopped. What would have happened if you'd hit someone else or, worse, a pedestrian. With no insurance they suffer without compensation, and even if they successfully sued you, could you pay?
Why did you not take a taxi, or a bus there & taxi back?
Explaining to the school that you could not drive may have resulted in another solution too.

The other answers have covered most of the points. Yes - you should go to jail. It is people like you who cause insurance premiums to rise and cause untold agony for innocent victims of your crass behaviour. I sympathise with your need to get to Hospital, but surely there are plenty of taxis or a friend or neighbour would have been willing to drive you. If that failed, as someone said, explain that to the school and I'm sure they would have made arrangements to get you there.

I can't understand how you came to have a car handy? If you could not drive for 15 years what were you doing with a car? Had you explained to school no way would they have made the child go alone. These questions will be asked if you go to court. Good luck.

Why didn't you get a taxi, sorry mate, you have no excuse you could have been involved in an accident on the way and smashed some poor 'legal' drivers car up or even worse, hurt someone..how would you have felt then?
You'll probably get a community service order. And to top it, its people like you who put our insurance premiums up.

Yes , you SHOULD go to Jail . and they should lock you up for a long time. You could have seriously injuried or killed someone by your inconsiderate action. The authorities have suspended you from driving for medical reasons, They must consider these reasons very vaild. They didnt say it was okay to drive IF you had an emergency. They said NO DRIVING PERIOD. .

I'm not sure what country you are from but If this had happened in England you would not be going to jail. They let paedophiles, rapists and muggers walk free from court so they would probably buy you a new car for your offence.

I hope so ! No offence but that's what ambulances are for, and if you haven't had a ticket in fifteen years its obviously just the first time you've been caught, not the first time you've driven !
