Why would intelligent beings choose or allow an elite wealthy few to fleece & herd them like dumb Animals?

I am talking about the level of Fascist corporate Capitalism currently in USA that swears YOU have a democracy yet the political/voting/polling system is completely corrupt! No voter currently has the ability to trace their ballot cast from polling point through transmiting points of numeric results! Where is our democracy?

Blind patriotism. My country, right or wrong. Its a mindset that is pervasive in the US. Without full and informed understanding of economic and political systems throughout the world, Americans are convinced that theirs is best...and they don't want to hear about anything different. so, as long as their heads are tucked in the sand, they are happy with the knowledge that they live in the Greatest Nation in the World. And all those who oppose them? They must be jealous. HA!

Thank you for the wonderful observation. You have a country running off to other countries to, "promote democracy". When just a few days ago some senator in Texas passed a law that makes it mandatory for 11-12yr olds to get HPV vaccinations beginning 2008; Mandatory??? doesn't that equal dictatorship?
How many people voted on that matter?

Basically we have the illusion that we are free. We get to "vote"for who we want elected but it doesn't matter anyway,they are all just puppets.The country is run on big companies and big banks. We should all stop voting and let the system fall apart. But most people are ok with being disillusioned.

Where is our democracy? They(I don't count myself as one) 'elected' it away. But as of 2004, the national election was rigged. I watched a video of an election official testifying that it was true. You can find the video on youtube.
