I suffered from similar symptoms when I was 15 and the doctor put me on the injection. This will stop your periods or make them a lot lighter and should stop these severe pains if it is period related. This will however stop you getting pregnant so if you are trying for a baby you cant have this. Talk to your gp again and ask them to send you for an abdominal scan just to check everythings all in order.
Good luck and I hope these pains do stop soon. Take Care x

While I do not exactly know the precise cause I used to encounter some of the same symptoms. Immodium is an over the counter remedy for diarriah that has worked for generations.
I take two regular Bayer aspirin and an Advil for headaches, if that doesn't do it I take 2 Advil and a Bayer aspirin 2-3 hours later.
Build up on vitamin D and that will help the cramping.
This may seem far fetched but the best thing for the pain is an excercise routine. Try to do some exercises especially the week before your period. During your period before the pain gets unbearable excercise. The relief is worth the effort. Women have been having periods longer than Dr.s Clinics have been known to man. We should really stick together and help each other out.

girl it sounds like you are telling my story. I had the same problem as you from the time I 1st got my period to 2 and a half years ago when I went on the pill Microgynon 30 Hallelujah!! Praise the Lord!!
From the 1st month there was improvement I only got a little bit of cramping then on the 2nd month it was like I didn't even have a period until this day I don't have any pains. I can go to work now I can tolerate the scent of food without vomiting I can even drink water and eat food. I felt like a prisoner being freed. I now know why men and women who never have cramps think women who have cramps just like winging its because they can never understand the type of pain you feel. I tell people it can't be described and when it comes with the head ache, back aches, nausea, gas, hunger from not being able to eat its indescribable.

I advise you to talk to your GP about going on the pill.

I am 25 and I used to have the most horrific paind and a hell of a lot of blood loss when I was on my period years ago. I would faint all the time and could barely walk because of the pain but since going on the pill (Microgynon) I have periods that are regular, light/medium, hardly any pains and don't upset other parts of my body either.
The pill really helps and it doesn't even matter if you are sexually active or not but this helps control the flow and pain. I wouldn't have believed at first but when I started using it just over two years ago, I am extrememly happy. I also tried Primrose Oil for the painas well as Parecetemol and all other kinds of painkillers but I bruprofen is the best, bearing in mind of course that you are not allergic to any the contents.
I hope this helps, I completely understand and sympathize with what you are going through having been there my self.

First off, ignore ALL men who ***** at you for complaining about period pains. Untill they know what it feels like they have no right to winge.

I personally have bad pains too. And i use the heat patches that are marketed at sore backs. Pop one on the inside of you underware and they stay warm for hours. That'll take the edge off the pains and will probably help if combined with pain killers.
Another option, that i'm supprised your doctor didn't recomend, is going onto the pill. When i was on the pill my pains were almost non-existant. since i came off they've been murder.

Slight exercise is also meant to be good for them. wrap up warm and go for a walk around the park or to the shops and treat yourself to some chocolate or something :)

I find the best thing to do is to pop on a heat patch, take a pain killer or two and curl up in bed with a book or take your duvet to the sofa and watch a good movie and pig on chocolate and make my boyfriend wait on me hand and foot lol

Hi - I know how you feel, Ive been the same since coming off my pill about 6 months ago, the pains unbearable and the sickness / 'other end' is just too much. I hink you need to go back to your doc and get checked out for problems with your ovaries etc as I believe these MAY cause your symptoms (from previous posts on here). Im waiting for some results to come back about mine so hopefully once I know what the problem is, if any, I can start working on it. Take care and I hope you get some answers soon. bex :O) xx

I experienced the same thing. The best thing for me is the contraceptive pill. Have you tried that?

I started trying for a baby, and had to come of the pill, and i completely forgot what the pain was like. I know what you mean about having to take tablets 2days before you are due on. I was popping Feminex, and crying in pain and agony like no-ones business.

Decided to the leave trying for a baby till we get married, so I'm back on the pill, with relatively painless period pains.

Suggest you speaking to your doctor again, or getting some advise from another GP.

If your not on the contreceptive pill you should try going on them and trying different ones as these can sometimes help with making periods less heavy and the pain less and also for lasting less days. Or if you are already on it try changing to a different one. You best bet might even be the contreceptive injection which stops you from having periods altogether.
Alternatively get a second opinion from a different doctor. Good luck and hope you sort it out x

I would ask for another opinion, and ask for an investigation.
Nowadays we don't have to suffer.
I did until about a year ago, have had 2 children, got sterilised, and periods were still horrific.
Went to Doctors, and had "Marena Coil" fitted, but not sure if you've had to have had children before you can have it, but fantastic.
Best thing I ever did.
Good Luck.

Go on the pill, this usually stops it, not everytime of course, or try having a baby or two then you will know what pain is and not moan about period pains anymore, no seriously speak to another doc your doctor who told you this sounds as good as mine and hes crap
