It may very well be the integrated circuit -- birth of computing. It's going to take a long time to see the full impact. We're still in computing infancy.

Other great inventions:

+ TCP/IP -- (Internet)
+ Printing Press
+ Steel
+ Internal Combustion Engine
+ Gunpowder
+ DNA sequencing
+ Keeled Boat
+ First tools (cue the 2001 music)

Outside of technology, you'd have all the intellectual innovations:

+ Alphabet
+ Mathematics
+ Monotheistic religion -- which led to concept of Law

Et cetera. Lots to list.

Although most people don't think of it as an invention, the most useful invention of all time would be written language. The ability to convey our thoughts in writing has allowed ideas to be spread across the world; our ideas themselves are able to be communicated more clearly due to our understanding of grammar and syntax. The written word allows us to record the passage of time and events so that we can learn from them later; it allows us to fabricate entire worlds of fanciful imagination; it creates a preservable record of our lives, thoughts, and actions. Most importantly, it allows ideas to become portable: whic allows people to learn from one another, develop new ideas, collaborate, and answer questions.
