Hi there...ideally, it would be best to keep your cat indoors to prevent her from becoming victim to your unkind neighbour and from hypothermia from the cold weather.
Most shelters worldwide offer free/low fee spay. USA residents can locate a participating nearby shelter from the following website: http://www.petsandanimals.org/spayneuter_services.html and http://spayusa.org
I would truly consider contacting your local animal control agency and report your neighbour's suspicious activities to them. If you can capture him in the act with photos this will help them more easily to investigate and prosecute as well.

Put up with her for a bit longer..she will be out of season soon. Of course you can't just throw her back outside and let her freeze. I too am on limited income but have found that the local Humane Society and SPCA helps with spaying/neutering. Usually you can get coupons from them which are accepted at participating vets. Check with your local animal shelter and they might be able to assist you. As for your neighbor..you need to report him for cruelty to animals.

Getting the cat spayed is pretty much your only option. There are several help services out there that will help with the cost of this. I would recommend, if you have really become attached, do not let the cat outdoors, let her get through this heat, get her spayed and enjoy your new pet.

I would report your neighbor asap. he can't just kill any animal that comes near his property at any time!! 2 cats a day u say? there are procedures for ridding nuisance animals, and he is not following them, I assure you that. as for the girl in heat-she will drive you nuts until it is over, but it is much better than letting her out to get killed/freeze/pregnant!! if she gets pregnant, then continues to live with you there will be a bigger vet bill than just spaying!! keep her in, and repor your neighbor.

You could call the humane league in your area, ask about discount for spaying or check with different vets in the area, some will give discount or make payments, since you 'rescued' this cat.
Pets cost money.

First off there is a such thing as animal abuse. Your neighbor can get into serious trouble for doing this and you should turn him into your local animal shelter/resuce group immediately.
Ask these rescue groups about free/low cost spay/neutering.
http://www.mypetnanny.info/pd/index.htm
Select Shelter or Rescue then select your state.
Somebody should be able to help you.

Ah. Tricky one, but why don't you talk to him and tell him it's your cat? Actually, does she have an owner? Because, you know, they might want her back. If you love her so much, I bet her owners do, too! No, but why don't you just go for it and give her the shots, tests and everything! She sounds adorable, after all! Go on, go for it !
Yeah this appears to not have been particularly helpful, so I may just stop now. Sorry.

Look into low income spaying from your local shelter. Also check into possible doing a time payment with your vet.

well, the best thing to do would be to get her fixed, but since you can't afford to do that, i would suggest keeping her inside. in the mean time, you need to call aspca on the guy next door because he does NOT have the right to kill animals just because they come onto his property. that is considered cruelty to animals.

It's not his right to kill anything. People get arrested for what he is doing. If you can't afford to get her spayed or vaccinations, I really suggest contacting a cat rescue that can provide the care she needs.
