Well you have to go with pitching. Pitching is the only one of those skills that is all encompassing.

If you can pitch and you can pitch well, you're in the show.

If you can field, but you can't it...you're not going to make it.

If you have power, but you can't make consistent contact and you're a slug in the field...you're not going to make it.

Contact is great and can carry you, but if you don't have any speed, power or defense to go with it...you're essentially a slap hitter and you'll never make it.

Speed is great as well and is the one thing that can probably get you into the show without any of the other talents...just ask Joey Gathright...the thing is odds are you'll just be a pinch runner, at best.

The best offensive players combine all of those to be great 5-tool players.

When it comes to the generic options to choose from here...you have to take pitching.

Plus you're paycheck will be about triple anyone else's if you're a pitcher :-) Thank you crazy free-agent spending!

Pitching

The obvious answer is pitching,I'm not worried about the money that would be made, but to play a game, for the most part of your life would be a dream come true for the majority of young men in this country.

Pitching (preferably left handed). Based on the ludicrous contract that Barry Zito got and the contracts of mediocre pitchers like Gil Meche I would be set for life. Sure, you can pay $52 million just to negotiate with me! Sure, you can sign me to a contract for $20 million halway through the season when I decide retirement isn't for me!

That ones easy. Pitching all the way...even mediocre pitchers are gettin absurd double digit millions in contracts. People that just don't have high caliber stuff. Pathetic...so give me the ability to pitch and let me make millions no matter how good or bad my "stuff" is
Go Sox! Let's see what Daisuke really has for MLB.

Fielding. You look at guys who don't always start, but can stay in the majors for a long time, they are average hitters, with great gloves. Maybe you don't make millions each year, but the minimum salary is over 300,000. That's not too bad for someone who can spend most of his time watching. Plus, to be a great fielder with range, you need speed, so it comes with the territory.

Power. I always wanted to be a catcher but there was another girl on my team that could throw the ball almost all the way to center field. That's pretty amazing. I was always envious of her because she could take out anyone since she didn't have to take the few seconds to actually stand up and then throw.

Gotta be a pitcher. To get paid to play only every 4 or 5 games.....Look at some of the guys who have terrible career records making 10 mill a year.
