There are also Pell Grants and federal and state loans that help students attend college.

The United States in The form of local governments and federal financial aid, offers every student an education up to 12th grade.

The drop out rate of the three major minorities in the USA are close to 50%. Specifically Hispanics, Blacks and Native Americans. Their lower economic status is closely related to their lack of education. A person who drops out of high school can not, and should not expect to be paid the same as someone who finished high school and nothing even close to what a college graduate gets.

Being a minority is not what causes the problem. If that were true, the Jews and Asians would be in the same boat, but they are not. Those two minorities put a high value on an education and as a result, they tend to be in the middle and upper middle class.

So I ask you, why should the government help the "low class" (Sic) them more when they do not take advantage of what help they already have?

The gov't doesn't help low income families. Tax payers do. I frankly don't think that anyone should HAVE to help the needy. That's what charity is for. It's not mine nor the governments job or obligation to help anyone. Whether or not I do it out of the goodness of my heart is another story. No one should be forced to help anyone. I can pretty much guarantee you that if the government stopped handing out checks to the needy, the needy will start to figure out how to care for themselves...excluding people with disabilities...

Why should the Gov help anyone? The Government is to protect the people, not feed, clothes and provide for them Tv, cars, cell phones and other stuff not required to live.
